Tezeus C8: A Lightweight, High-Tech E-Bike for Urban Adventures
The Tezeus C8 redefines urban cycling with its innovative design and advanced features, making it a premium option for riders seeking a sleek, tech-forward e-bike.
Standout Features
The bike features an ultra-lightweight carbon fiber frame, weighing only 15 to 16kg (or 33lbs to 35lbs) depending on the configuration. Its sleek design includes internally routed cables and is available in black or black-and-white color schemes. At its core, the 250W mid-drive motor delivers smooth, balanced power with a top speed of 32 km/h (20 mph) in North America or 25 km/h (16 mph) in Europe. This is paired with a torque sensor for responsive pedal assist.
Let's dive into the mechanics.
The C8 has automatic internal hub gears, or that's what it says on the box, whatever that means. But i found it it's actually really neat, there is no geaer shofter or anything. Once you start pedaling it's automaticly in the lightest gear, then when you go about 12 kmh you feel a little oeh and it shift into the second, very smooth, very quit. Then at arround 19 kmh it shifts into the final and 3th gear where it stays (i think). This is unlike anything i've ever seen. it's simple, elegent and extrordenerely smooth, and no chain or gear noice to speak of. This is an extra feature where i think you need to pay extra for, but it's definetly worth it. it's just amazing.
Instead of a traditional chain, the Tezeus C8 uses a belt drive system, offering options for a single-speed setup or for the 3-speed rear hub like i said. This adds to the silence, like it's a ghost, just riding along.
The 360Wh battery is seamlessly integrated into the downtube, providing up to 100 km (or 62 miles) of range per charge, with a recharge time of just less then 3 hours, that's very impressive. you take it out of the bike by clicking a button on the screen, that's pretty neat.
let's get into the Tech
The bike includes a 5-inch touchscreen display with GPS and 4G connectivity, enabling navigation and speed monitoring without the need for a smartphone. It looks and works like a phone or a small ipad, the way you adjust the screen brightness and adjust the alarm settings, it all feels familier. and that's pretty cool.
Another absolutely bonkers Tesla like feature is the lidar sensor in the back light, it detects vehicles up to 100 meters (or 328 feet) away and warns you with haptic and audible alerts. Drivers are also warned via a rapidly flickering tail light. like i said, insane.
Let's quickly talk about the bell, it's digital, i'm usually not a fan of this because people in bike traffic don't reconize a horn, but this digital bell sounds like an actual bell, you can even change the sound in the settings. what? yes you can actuallly change the bell sound like changing the alarm sound on your phone.
Safety Highlights
An anti-theft system triggers an alarm and sends a smartphone notification if the bike is moved, i didn't know this at first so i turned off the bike and moved it around the garage when it started beeping like a motherfucker, it took me a couple minutes to figure out how to turn it off, but to conclude it works very well. It also has GPS tracking for recovery.
Riding Experience
The lightweight frame, smooth torque delivery, and 700x38c tires create a comfortable and responsive ride. Ideal for urban commutes or leisurely weekend rides, the Tezeus C8 ensures performance and peace of mind with its safety-focused features. It moves around like a race bike. Definetely a bit better then the tenways C GO 600 which is already really good.
The light weight of just 15kg also makes it easy to carry it up 20 flights of stairs or to strap it on the back of your fighter jet. When you remove the battery this becomes even easier.
Because it's so light, you can also use it without elecric mode, this gets alot of points in my book because you never have to worry about battery this way.
Hydraulic disc brakes provide reliable stopping power, the brakes look pretty weird bedcause all the cables are fully integrated into the frame. Litterly all of them, there isn't a single cable to brake wire outside of the frame. it looks great. The C8 also has auto-illuminating headlight that adjusts to ambient light for safer nighttime rides.
my Bike didn't come with mud guards, this aligns with the sleek and simple look of the bike. However if you live in the Netherlands or a similarly wet country like me, this is not ideal. they do sell them seperately but i think at this price they should be included.
If i where to pick a bike for double o 7 this would definitly be the one. Silent like a ghost, smart like a spy, and capable like bond himself. You kind of feel like james bond on this bike. It's like it came straight out of the M-I-6 development center.
Final Thoughts
The Tezeus C8 combines cutting-edge technology, sleek design, and lightweight construction, making it perfect for urban riders who value both style and practicality. If you’re seeking a james bond like riding experience, this might be you only choice. (and not a bad one either)
Cheers!
